Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty,  Gautam Rode, Priti  Jhangiani, Vinod Kambli

Producer Director Ravi Devan's film 'Annarth' is written by Imteyaz Hussein with music composed by Anand Raaj Anand. The film stars Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Ashutosh Rana and new comer Gautam Rode in the lead role with Preeti Jhangiani opposite Gautam. Annarth is an out n out action movie with lots of 'Mar Dhad' and gun shots. A story revolving around two gangs in Mumbai.

Sameer (Gautam Rode) returns to his basti after a decade with no one knowing about his past ten years. He is a childhood friend of Jimmy (Sunil Shetty), who in turn is working with his don brother Raghav (Ashutosh Rana). Raghav is the don of Sai Nagar and has frictions with another gang led by Afzal.Iqbal Danger another person from the underworld (Sanjay Dutt) was once forced to kill a man who had an affair with his beloved. He spends his time in jail writing shayaris and suddenly becomes famous for his writings. He is released for his good behaviour and he starts 'Bewafa Bar' for broken hearts. Bandya (Vinod Kambli) is a young mechanic in the basti and is habituated of betting. He has taken money from Afzal and is not able to return the same. He gets killed and everyone is made to understand that Afzal's men have killed him. Jimmy is upset and wants to kill whoever had killed his brotherly friend. Afzal's men are killed by Jimmy and finally in a Mandavli (settlement) between Raghav and Afzal, Dayal (Tinu Verma) under whom Raghav carries out his business, asks him to kill Jimmy.

------
The story changes track when Sameer reveals that he is actually an undercover police. The settlement is done and Jimmy is killed. Sameer concludes that now he will finish Raghav and Iqbal Danger supports him. Finally Raghav and Dayal are killed by Sameer and Iqbal.

Ravi Devan has been able to keep the story tight and does not seem to lose track of it throughout. Action in the film is average or a shade better. The film is a solid launc pad for Gautam and he has done an above average job. The little pranks by Jhonny Lever as Music video director Ben Bose help make some light laughters. Gautam and Ashutosh have performed well with some scope to Sunil who has a typical style in the film. Preity is placed just as a filler and a link between the brothers and Sameer. Sanjay Dutt as Iqbal Danger is a misuse. Eventually, he had done something similar in Sohail Khan's Maine Dil Tujhko Diya as Bhaijan who has a soft corner for 'Ashiqs'. Tinu Anand as Dayal is just okay with no scope to show his histrionics.

The music is well below par and has no value for common man, may be it works with Auto rickshaws and taxiwalas.

Annarth is a movie for the masses or the front benchers, but even that is doubtful as the songs are not too impressive nor is the female lead of much help. Dialogues are just okay.
